Willy Wonka
Male Presenting, "Older than he looks”
Vocal Range: Bari-tenor A2-G4
A goofball, childlike, completely original chocolatier. Show-stealing ability, he is comedic, charming, eccentric, larger than life, magical, at times warm and sentimental.
Charlie Bucket
Male Presenting, able to play ages 10-14
Vocal Range: G#3-F5
A creative, caring, dreamer hopes for more than the world he inherits. A self-made inventor that makes good out of what little he has. A boy with a “touch of odd”. Charlie will need a high strong singing voice and playful, earnest spirit.
Grandpa Joe
Male Presenting, able to play “Soon to be 90.5 years old”
Vocal Range: Baritone (G#2-G4)
Charlie’s paternal grandfather with a vaudevillian ability. He is the fuel for Charlie’s dreams. Movement/dance ability is a plus.

Grumpy and irritable most of the time. May double into Ensemble in Act II.

A greedy, gluttonous, boastful monster, hungrily consuming anything within reach.
Mr. Salt
Male Presenting; able to play ages 30-50

Veruca’s wealthy, doting father. He finds it impossible to say no, giving in to every ridiculous demand his daughter makes. Money can solve any problem.
Veruca Salt
Female Presenting; able to play ages 10-16
Vocal Range: Baritone Ab4-Db5
A viciously selfish monster. The universe revolves around her. She considers herself to be the best in the world at everything…especially ballet (which may be debatable). Veruca should be great at shrieking and have a dance background.
Mr. Beauregarde
Male Presenting; able to play ages 30-50

Mrs. Teavee
Female Presenting; able to play 20-40s
Vocal Range: Mezzo (G4-Eb5)
She is hyper-concerned about projecting an image of the perfect 1950’s mother. While appearing perfectly put-together, she needs valium to deal with her outrageous son. Soft-spoken but extremely tense all the time. Vocal Range: Mezzo (G4-Eb5)
Ensemble
Male or Female Presenting; ages 18+
The ensemble will play multiple roles including: townspersons, reporters, Gum Diva’s, and Oompa-Loompas. Looking for strong singer/dancers.
