Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary:  

The Stitcher is a full-time member of the Costume Shop team at The Ruth & Nathan Hale Theater. Working under the direction of the Draper/Cutter and First Hand, the Stitcher contributes to the construction, alteration, and maintenance of costumes for the theater’s inaugural 2025 season. This includes 9 mainstage productions across two new stages and 3 youth productions. The Stitcher plays a key role in ensuring costumes are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule to support the artistic goals of each production.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist with costume construction as directed by Draper/Cutter & First Hand
  • Assist with fabric cutting as needed
  • Help complete fitting and rehearsal notes by deadlines
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager based on the needs of the Costume Shop

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Advanced sewing skills
  • Familiar with domestic machines; industrial a plus
  • Demonstrate ability to use commercial patterns; able to draft patterns a plus
  • Takes direction well, able to delegate
  • Experience with costume construction and theater culture a plus
