Job Summary: We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator / Generalist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone early in their career looking to gain valuable experience or for a seasoned professional seeking a meaningful full-time role in a vibrant, creative environment. The HR Coordinator will handle day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and compliance with HR policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new employees and actors, including job/audition postings, interviews, background checks, and orientations. Diversity and inclusion are paramount.
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Facilitate company payroll processes.
  • Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and helping resolve workplace issues.
  • Assist managers with scheduling and execution of performance reviews.
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Work to create and maintain a positive workplace culture
  • Assist with employee recognition
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Organize employee training sessions, workshops, and other HR-related events.
  • Provide administrative support to the management team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Previous experience in an HR role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Passion for the arts and a desire to contribute to a nonprofit environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $70K - $85K DOE
