Location: The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater, Pleasant Grove, Utah

Job Summary: 

The Ruth & Nathan Hale Theater is seeking a full-time First Hand. 2025 will be our inaugural season in our new theater building! We will mount 9 productions taking place on our two new stages. The First Hand works under the direction of the Draper/Cutter to assist with cutting fabric, costume construction, and helping with project management in the Costume Shop.

Responsibilities: 

• Cut fabrics
• Assist with costume construction as directed by Draper/Cutter
• Assist with patterning as needed
• Direct stitcher(s) as appropriate and necessary
• Help ensure fitting and rehearsal notes are delegated and completed
• Additional tasks as assigned by the Costume Shop Manager based on the needs of the Costume Shop

Qualifications:

• Advanced sewing skills
• Familiar with domestic machines; industrial a plus
• Demonstrate ability to use commercial patterns; able to draft patterns a plus
• Takes direction well, able to delegate
• Experience with costume construction and theater culture a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation: $20.00 per hour
